Fannie Hillman brokers $61.3M in 1st half

It was reported today in the Orlando Business Journal that Mayfair
International Realty members Fannie Hillman & Associates Inc.
reported a 36.2 percent growth in total volume of home sales
through the first six months of 2010, when compared with the same
period a year prior.
The Winter Park-based residential real estate brokerage firm had
181 transactions for a total of $61.3 million, or an average of 31
closings per month at a price of about $338,783 per sale, from
January through June of this year. That compared with 139 closings
for a total of $45 million in the same period a year prior.
A total of 101 of this year’s first-half sales —
$37.3 million, or an average price of $369,307 per home sale
— closed in the second quarter of this year. Another 10 were
luxury homes that sold for $1 million, including six lakefront
properties in Winter Park, Maitland, Orlando and College Park, a
release said. The firm also landed the area’s second-largest
home sale this year in the first half: an estate home on Lake
Osceola in Winter Park that sold for more than $3 million, the
release said.
“I’m feeling a lot better than I was this time last
year,” said President Scott Hillman. “When you look at
the real numbers, the market actually hit bottom in March 2009, and
this year we’re beginning to see prices on homes, especially
those in older established neighborhoods, leveling off and starting
to inch up in appreciation in some specific areas.”
In addition, the firm’s average sales price during the
second quarter was nearly $69,000 higher than its average
first-quarter sale, the release said.
The firm had 10 associates post sales of more than $1 million in
the first half of 2010, led by Nancy Bagby with nine transactions
for more than $7.9 million and Jerry Oller with 11 sales for more
than $4.4 million.
