BRISTOL’S “WIND HILL” SELLS FOR $6.75M

Lila Delman Real Estate International continues to lead the state with record sales in 2017. Wind Hill, one of Bristol’s most notable estates, was sold along with an adjacent 3 acre parcel for $6,750,000 by Alyce Wright, Sales Associate, Lila Delman Real Estate International. This marks the highest single family home sale in Bristol ever, according to statistics maintained by RI Statewide MLS.*

Offered for the first time in almost 100 years, “Wind Hill” is an exceptional 17-acre waterfront estate with a 10-bedroom historic 1890 manor house, a spacious carriage house, a gatehouse, stables, tennis court, and numerous garage spaces for one’s car collection.

“Wind Hill is an outstanding property, with its panoramic west-facing water views of Narragansett Bay, stunning sunsets over the water, and deep water dock, commented Alyce. “During the 12-meter era of America’s Cup racing, there were many parties at Wind Hill attended by numerous America’s Cup luminaries.”

The manor house offers expansive and unobstructed water views and consists of 7,328 square feet of living space over 3 floors with 10 bedrooms, 6 full and 3 half-bathrooms, and 6 fireplaces. In addition to the manor house, there is a post-and-beam carriage house with 3,652 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2 full and 1 half-bathrooms built in the 1990s. The historic gatehouse from the 1920s consists of 1,855 square feet, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and was originally built as accommodation for the chauffeur. The pool is set within a charming walled garden area and also offers views of the Bay. There are 11 garage spaces, stables and a tennis court.

Earlier this year Lila Delman Real Estate International sold “Ocean Lawn,” the former Firestone estate, for $11.65 million, marking the highest sale in Newport and the top sale in Rhode Island year-to-date, according to statistics maintained by RI Statewide MLS.*
