Historic “Sebring House” in Rockledge, FL Listed by Dale Sorensen Real Estate Brevard

One of Rockledge’s most historic homes has recently been listed for sale with Dale Sorensen Real Estate Brevard.  The majestic estate, named the Sebring House, is located at 709 Rockledge Drive overlooking the Indian River waterway. The property is listed on the Brevard County and National Historic Registries.

“This is an unbelievable and rare opportunity to own an historic piece of Brevard County’s early history,” said DSRE listing agent Denise Mansour. “The home was originally built in 1901 by George R. Sebring, who later moved toward the central part of the state and developed the town of Sebring.  Since then, only a few families have lived in the house.  The design is a combination of Vernacular and Victorian elements.  It has received extensive renovations and expansions over the years to allow for modern conveniences, while still maintaining its historic charm.  It is a beautiful home and we are honored to have received this listing.”  Mansour previously owned the home and oversaw many of the renovations, giving her valuable history and knowledge to prospective buyers.

The two-story, 3,282 square foot main home sits on .81 acres. With 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, this estate features two primary suites, a downstairs suite with views of the garden, the other upstairs with expansive views of the river.  The main house also includes a gourmet kitchen, dining room, and theater room.

There are many historic features still imbedded into the home.  “I love that so much of the original features of the house remain, including feathered glass windows, an original linen closet, a 1904 sink, and original hardwood floors with a mixture of Oak and Merritt Island Pine,” said co-listing agent Lauren Merrell. “With the exception of one door, all other doors are original with glass doorknobs and skeleton keys.”

A secondary 396 square foot cottage is currently being used as an office/library and workout studio.  Exterior features of the estate include a 19th century millstone, a large back porch on the main house, a spacious grassy backyard with a zip-line and fruit trees such as avocado, banana, and sugar apple.  This property also has 4+ car detached garage and a cellar for storage that accommodates the AC, electrical, generator, and sprinkler panels. A highlight of this estate - one of the last remaining functioning boathouses on Rockledge Drive featuring an 8,000lb lift and a 10x40 observation deck with a beautiful river view.

The property is listed for $2.090 million.  To view the property, contact Denise Mansour on her cell phone at 321.749.5562 or by email at dmansour@sorensenrealestate.com.  Contact Lauren Merrell on her cell phone at 321.987.3328; by email at lmerrell@sorensenrealestate.com.  You may also call Denise or Lauren at their office at 321-723-9990 or visit them at their office is located at 436 Fifth Avenue, Indialantic, FL 32903.  321-723-9990
