Local Realtor Fulfills Her Olympic Dream - Michael Saunders & Company Agent Credits Her Real Estate Skills in Building Her Empowerment

A Michael Saunders & Company Realtor has achieved an opportunity of a lifetime. Leah Secondo is on her way to the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo where she will serve as a broadcaster.

Secondo was hired by the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), the production company that provides television coverage to over 200 countries. She feels her versatility sealed the deal.

“I know many sports and have broadcasted a variety as well,” Secondo stated. “In the early rounds, I will call games for softball women’s basketball and 3-on-3 women’s basketball. For the medal rounds, I will move into the analyst role.”

She has been consistently recognized by Michael Saunders & Company for exceeding sales expectations. Most recently, Secondo received the President’s Award and the West Bradenton Office 2020 Top Producing Agent. Additionally, Secondo has been the leading sales and listing agent in the Manatee County Glenn Lakes subdivision. She feels her background in real estate, broadcasting and being an athlete help strengthen her skills and paved her path to the Olympics.

“There’s definitely a correlation between real estate, athletics and broadcasting. Each day is different and competitive.” Secondo explained further, “The market and industry are constantly changing. In order to stay updated, you need to be a lifelong learner, stay up to speed on technology and never be discouraged when a door closes. No matter what happens, it’s important to have a strong work ethic to pursue your dreams and goals.”

To exemplify her mantra, Secondo submitted her resume to the Olympic networks through the years, most recently in 2017. OBS reached out in March of this year, turning her dream into reality.

Secondo is a four-time Hall of Famer and has also had two-holes-in-one. A pioneer for women in sports broadcasting, 2021 marks her 37th year in the industry. She is now celebrating 20 years with Michael Saunders & Company. Her West Bradenton Office colleagues will be providing customers services while she is covering the Olympic Games.
