Scott Cietek has joined Michael Saunders & Company as director of the company’s commercial real estate division, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in commercial and residential lending, real estate and economic and community development. Cietek will oversee a team of agents and staff with expertise in all classes of commercial properties and property management spanning the Gulf Coast region as well as the Orlando market.

“I believe the Gulf Coast and Orlando markets are performing at a normal level, and 2019 will be a very good year based on our current book of business,” said Cietek. “Our MSC Commercial agents are fully engaged in the marketplace and securing deals daily. The expectation is that will continue moving into the first quarter of the new year.”

A native of upstate New York, Cietek most recently served as Vice President of Economic Development for Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority. Within that role, he was involved in site selection, SBA financing and governmental approvals for over $1.5B (8 million square feet) and helping small and large companies relocate or expand in the market area. His passion for supporting his community’s infrastructure via the growth of local enterprises also earned him a reputation as rainmaker when he held the Executive Director position at the County Incubator, continuously bringing in new opportunities and ultimately helping his hometown thrive. He cites the Michael Saunders & Company values and culture as driving factors for his choice in relocating for his position.

Cietek relocated to Venice with his wife, Nora, and holds a real estate degree from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute. They have three children; Zachary and twin daughters Kendall and Mackenzie, all of whom have embarked on their own professional paths.
