Smith & Associates Continues to Expand in the Tampa Bay

Having had a record year in 2015 by hitting the billion dollar sales volume mark for the first time in company history, Smith & Associates Real Estate is continuing forward progression with new hiring and expansion in key areas.

Bringing on experienced new agents like Kevin Reder, who has a solid history of selling real estate, is consistently a top-ranked multi-million dollar producer, and has participated in the sale of over $100,000,000 during his career, are setting the pace for a very active year of sales for Smith & Associates. In Tampa, year to date Smith & Associates Real Estate has 30% of market of sales and listings above 1,000,000 with next closest company at 9.4%.

Along with expanding their sales team, Smith and Associates Real Estate has added a new Business Development Vice President, along with new associates, and acquired a Property Management firm allowing for more diversification into new projects. With the revitalization of the urban cores of St. Petersburg and now Tampa, real estate demand is outpacing inventory.

According to Smith & Associates President and CEO, Bob Glaser, “The recent sell out of Waterclub on Snell , and Bliss on Beach Drive, leaves a limited inventory of new construction available being delivered over next 24 months. Both Tampa and St. Petersburg are communities that will continue to need both Luxury and mid price city view condominium offerings as the market continues to flourish.”

While international buyers purchased real estate in all 50 states, the majority of homes were purchased in Florida, thanks in part to the year-round pleasant climate, award-winning beaches, and easy to access international airports.

Buyers from Europe, Canada, and Latin America looking for a warm weather vacation retreat more often bought real estate in Florida than any other state.

Glaser has noticed this increased demand for homes in Tampa Bay by international buyers. “Our agents have definitely seen an increase in the number of foreign buyers looking to purchase a second home or relocate to the United States,” said Glaser. “International buyers love the Florida weather and are looking for homes with high-end amenities, walkability to the urban core, and proximity to the beach. This makes Tampa Bay an ideal location.”
