Village Properties - Teacher's Fund 2022 Year Recap

Established in 2002 by Renee Grubb, the Teacher’s Fund is the longest-running program in Santa Barbara County that provides direct funding to TK-12th grade teachers.
Village Properties are honored by the generosity of their community, that has allowed them to distribute nearly $2 million to local educators and classrooms!
An example of what one of Village Properties' grants does:
A teacher by the name of Ms Acuna requested funds to purchase books for her classroom. She wrote:
“I am a Reading Intervention teacher and I currently work with first, second, and third grade students who need support in reading. My students are reading one to two years below grade level, and most of them do not have access to books at their reading level at home or in the classroom. I started a Mastery Book program where students are given books at their reading level to read and then exchange them for new books when they have finished reading them. They change out their books at least once a day. I have seen improvement in both reading fluency and motivation since I have started this program, however, I am in desperate need of more books. I truly appreciate your consideration”.
Once Ms Acuna received her grant and bought books she responded:
“Thank you so much Teacher’s Fund! My students can now partner read , and we can also do small group reading with the sets of books I was able to purchase”.
