Earlier this month, Zephyr Real Estate partnered with Parents for Public Schools-San Francisco to host an informative session designed to assist parents of school-age children in navigating the San Francisco Unified School District school options.
Organized by Noriko Williams, from Zephyr, and Sharon Ng, from Parents for Public Schools, the focus of the event was to offer help in understanding the assignment system so that parents can make informed choices. The session also sought to dispel common myths and misunderstandings about the process.
The public service event was open to all Zephyr agents and their clients, and approximately 45 were in attendance. “We were pleased to offer this helpful opportunity to what can be an overwhelming task at first glance,” commented Noriko Williams, Vice President of Administration & Relocation Services.
Sharon Ng, Enrollment Coach for Parents for Public School – San Francisco (PPSSF), a nonprofit organization that helps families with SFUSD enrollment, was also available to offer assistance in understanding education policy and decision-making. “We believe that strong San Francisco public schools create a strong city for all of us,” she remarked.
Since 1999, PPSSF has assisted over 280,000 San Francisco families, and reaches over 5,700 families in English, Spanish and Chinese each year. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 415.861.7077.
The session was an ongoing segment of Zephyr Real Estate’s continuing initiative to offer helpful and informational services to their agents, staff and clients.
