Dale Sorensen Real Estate sales associate Lauren Merrell sponsoring Teacher’s Night at Space Coast Lightfest
The holiday spirit is upon us already, but for none more than Dale Sorensen Real Estate sales associate Lauren Merrell. Merrell is excited to be sponsoring the annual Space Coast Lightfest for the 2020 holiday season.
“Giving back to the community is very important to me,” said Merrell. “While this is the second year that I’ve sponsored the Lightfest, this is the first time I’ve sponsored Teacher’s Night. My mom was a teacher so I have first-hand experience with the amount of dedication and work that goes into their job. I’m happy to be able to give back to them in some way.” The first fifty teachers to arrive on December 10th will get in to the event at no charge. All other teachers will receive a discount on that day.
Merrell, a Florida native, grew up in Brevard County. After attending the University of Central Florida, she moved to Orlando. When she and her husband decided to start their family, they moved back to Brevard County.
“I decided last year to sponsor Lightfest because it’s a family activity that my family has enjoyed many times over the years” Merrell said. “It’s always been a great event, but especially now, when social distancing is so important and you can choose to stay in your car, drive through and still have the experience.”
Space Coast Lightfest is a holiday light spectacular on display at Wickham Park that began on 11/23/20 and continues to 1/3/21. It is over a mile long, with more than 3 million lights with several events taking place, including a 5K Run, activities with Santa and strolling through the lights.
