DEMAND CONTINUES FOR QUONOCHONTAUG WATERFRONT PROPERTY Home on West Beach Sells for $1.61M

Just one day following the sale of 834B West Beach Road for $1,295,000, Lila Delman Real Estate International has sold 485 A&B West Beach Road for $1,610,000.

Lila Delman Real Estate International was both the listing and the selling company in this transaction. Lori Joyal, Manager of Lila Delman Real Estate International’s Watch Hill office, represented the seller and facilitated for the buyer.

“This iconic property embraces a piece of history in Quonochontaug as buyers continue to yearn to be a part of the fabulous seaside community of Quonnie,” commented Lori.

Sited on nearly 2.3 acres and measuring 7,069 square feet across two levels, the house has four bedrooms, five and two-half baths and a guest house. Highlights include cathedral ceilings of exposed wood, maple floors and a magnificent stone fireplace.

The guest house was originally part of the dance hall for the Sea Breeze Inn. According to the Quonochontaug Historical Society, an inn called the Kenyon House was originally on the property. In 1940 it was purchased by Otto and Mimi Nurmi of Westerly and re-opened as the Sea Breeze Inn. The Kenyon House had a separate building with a bowling alley and a dance hall. When that was destroyed in the great hurricane of 1938, the Nurmis built a new dance hall for the Sea Breeze.
