LILA DELMAN REAL ESTATE APPROACHES HALF A BILLION DOLLARS IN SALES FOR 2017

Lila Delman continued to lead the state with record sales while participating in six of the top ten single-family home sales statewide, approaching half a billion dollars in total sales volume and representing 40% of the sides in the top ten transactions statewide, which was more than any other real estate firm in Rhode Island*

With $494,587,053 in total sales volume, Lila Delman Real Estate continued to lead the state in extraordinary sales in 2017, participating in six of the top ten single-family home sales statewide and representing 40% of the sides in these transactions, which was more than any other real estate firm in Rhode Island.*

“We continue to set benchmark sales throughout Rhode Island,” said John Hodnett, Principal Broker/Owner of Lila Delman Real Estate. “2017 was an exceptional year, as we participated in the top single-family home sales in Bristol, Jamestown, Charlestown, Narragansett and Block Island.”

Lila Delman’s most notable sale in 2017 was “Ocean Lawn,” the iconic Newport Estate that was home to the Firestone family. Melanie Delman, President /Broker of Lila Delman Real Estate represented the seller. This marked Melanie’s third transaction involving a Newport oceanfront mansion in excess of $11,000,000 over an 18-month time period.*

On the heels of the Ocean Lawn sale, Lila Delman sold two significant waterfront properties in Jamestown. 1088 East Shore Road was sold for $5,750,000 in April. Melanie Delman, President, and Alyce Wright, Sales Associate, represented the seller, and Pila Pexton, Sales Associate, represented the buyer. A week later, 320 East Shore Road was sold for $4,500,000 by Cynthia Moretti, Broker Associate, who represented the seller. These sales were the two highest single-family home sales in Jamestown for 2017.*

Lila Delman continued to set records in South County by participating in the two highest sales in Charlestown. “High Point,” one of Charlestown’s most prominent properties located at 89B South Arnolda Road, sold for $4,025,000, marking the highest sale in Charlestown since January 15, 2008.* This was followed by the sale of 419 West Beach Road which sold for $3,950,000, marking the second-highest sale in Charlestown for 2017. Lori Joyal, Managing Broker of Lila Delman’s Watch Hill Office, represented the seller in both transactions.

Lila Delman led the Weekapaug market as well with the sale of the iconic “Beacon” at 92 Noyes Neck Road and adjacent land for $6,500,000. In this transaction, Lori Joyal represented the seller and facilitated for the buyer.

In Narragansett, Lila Delman continued to set the pace by participating in four of the six highest sales in 2017, topped off by the sale of 165 Boston Neck Road. This property sold for $3,200,000, representing the highest sale of the year. Lila Delman was both the listing and the selling company in this transaction. Debbie and Jaime Wilson, Sales Associates, represented the seller, and Janet Kermes, Sales Associate, represented the buyer.

In Bristol, “Wind Hill,” an exceptional 17-acre waterfront estate located at 55 Ferry Road, was sold along with an adjacent 3-acre parcel for $6,750,000 by Alyce Wright, Sales Associate. This marked the highest single family home sale ever recorded in Bristol, according to statistics maintained Rhode Island State Wide MLS.*

Other record sales throughout the state include a 30-acre equestrian farm located at 61 Pine Hill Road in Richmond, which sold for $1,000,000 by John Repoza, Broker Associate, who represented the buyer. This sale marked the highest single-family home sale in Richmond for 2017.*

Lila Delman’s Block Island Office participated in the highest sale on the island for the second year running, with the sale of 1178 Corn Neck Road, which sold for $3,000,000. Wendy Crawford, Sales Associate, represented the buyer in this transaction.*
