A 60th Anniversary of any kind is cause for celebration enough, but celebrating sixty years in real estate really does make the champagne corks fly!

In November 2012, Mayfair International Realty members, Realtors Limited attained the rare distinction of reaching the very significant milestone of sixty years in business, making it the longest operating real estate company in Barbados.

Throughout those six decades, Realtors has established a solid reputation for reliability, integrity and an unwavering commitment to its clients and remained at the forefront of the property sector on the island, particularly within the Sandy Lane Estate and along the West Coast because of Mr. Nick’s early involvement with Mr. Ronnie Tree.

Ronnie Tree was the man responsible for developing The Sandy Lane Estate and become a close friend of business associate of Mr. Parravicino’s. Realtors Limited still has a large portfolio of luxury homes along the Platinum Coast due to these early connections.

Nick Parravicino, more familiarly known as ‘Mr. Nick’, bought Realtors Limited in 1954 along with his wife, Sheila, from a group of businessmen for whom Sheila worked since the company’s inception in 1952.

Mr Nick states: “My life and my career have provided a truly wonderful experience. I just wish I were ten years younger so that I could carry on enjoying it some more! I think that Barbados has a wonderful future. Provided we manage our resources wisely and implement some measures to improve a few areas that need fixing, I think that our country still has its best days ahead of us.

The same applies to Realtors Limited. The company has done very well to get to this stage after sixty years and it has an excellent platform to now build upon and prosper even more.

My eldest grandson, Bruce Parravicino, is our Manager of Reservations and Property Management, so I still have family involved with me in the business.

Plus I am delighted that Suzanne Davis, who has been a stalwart with the company for over 25 years, has risen through the ranks and now acquired the majority of the shares of Realtors Real Estate Limited. I am confident that under her leadership the company will grow from strength to strength.”

Having met "Mr Nick" on several occasions, both in Barbados and London, Nick Churton and Annette Reeve of Mayfair International Realty feel honoured to know him and look forward to sharing more times together and hearing more fascinating stories from this wonderful man's long career.
