Mary Beth Lake of Harry Norman, Realtors® sworn in as vice president of advocacy for Atlanta Realtors® Association

Harry Norman, REALTORS®, Atlanta and Greater Georgia’s leader in luxury real estate, is thrilled to announce that Mary Beth Lake, Senior VP and Managing Broker at the East Cobb Office, has been installed as Vice President of Advocacy for the Atlanta REALTORS® Association (ARA) for the 2024 term. Lake was elected to this role due to her exceptional dedication and commitment to the REALTOR® Association.

In her new position, Lake will play a crucial role in representing the concerns of REALTORS® in Atlanta by working closely with the ARA’s leadership team to develop and implement strategies that promote and protect the rights of real estate professionals. Lake’s responsibilities will include policy development, community engagement, industry advocacy, member support, and working with local, state, and federal government officials.

"Through my journey in real estate, I've come to develop a profound passion for advocacy,” said Lake. “I've witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that advocacy can have on our industry, shaping policies, and fostering a supportive environment for both professionals and clients alike. ARA aims to ‘Promote. Protect. Defend.’ As Vice President of Advocacy, it will be my pleasure to support these ideals significantly as we stand up for private property rights, pursue equitable housing initiatives, and engage in meaningful civic leadership on a local level.”

After earning a degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech in 2004, Lake has fused her educational background with a strong emphasis on personal connections with associates and clients. In 2020, Lake took on the pivotal role of Managing Broker for the East Cobb Office, allowing her to deepen her focus on guiding associates toward achieving their goals. Over the years, Lake has received several accolades, including the President’s Award for Harry Norman, REALTORS®, the ARA Phoenix Award, Captain of Industry Award, and Five Star Circle of Service Award. Lake has previously had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors for both the Atlanta and Georgia REALTORS® Associations.

ARA is the largest local real estate association in the state of Georgia, with over 14,000 members, and is one of the most successful REALTOR® Associations across the country. Its mission is to support the real estate industry by providing excellence, inclusion, superior education, and advocacy for its members, consumers, property owners, and communities in which it serves, according to its website. Lake’s position as Vice President of Advocacy will play a tremendous role in fulfilling the organization’s mission.
